Stroke of Bad

My life took a drastic change. I woke up and thought I was having vertigo, however when nothing worked to stop the dizziness or improve my balance, I called my pcp, I was told to go to the nearest ER that I was having stroke like symptoms. My husband drove me to the ER and then I was airlifted to Saint Thomas. Once at St. Thomas I was immediately taken to the stroke floor. The team at both hospitals were wonderful, but the team at St. Thomas was absolutely the most loving, caring, and compassionate staff of medical professionals that I have ever met. It was determined I had a TIA Mini Stroke. It affected my short term memory loss and it has taken me a little over a year to half way feel like myself. It is a long journey and I would not wish it on anyone. My writing and art were two things that I wanted back the most and slowly I am getting them back.
